How the Lamia markets work

In the city of Lamia there is a market every day except Sunday. The Municipality of Lamia's market page (archived in August 2024) lists seven: one a day from Monday to Saturday, with two on Thursday — on Agias Varvaras street and in Nea Magnisia. The Saturday market fills Agiou Nikolaou and Leosthenous Dedousi streets in the centre.

Under the municipal regulation (council decision 56/2012), markets run 07:00–14:30 in the winter period and 06:30–14:30 in the summer; sellers arrive half an hour earlier. When a market day falls on a public holiday, the market does not run that day but may be held on the previous working day.
