Who we are

Laikimap is an independent map of farmers' markets (laiki agora) in Greece. The site is operated by its publisher, who you can reach at support@laikimap.online. We are the controller of the limited data described here.

We are not the Farmers' Markets Authority, the Region of Attica, any municipality, or a vendors' association.

What we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not run a server-side database of visitors.

The data that can exist is: a language cookie on your device; settings and a remembered municipality stored only in your browser; an approximate location if you tap “Near me”, which is read by your browser and is not sent to us; technical data that your browser sends to our host when it requests a page (such as IP address and user agent), which the host uses to deliver the page; visit statistics, which store nothing on your device (see Analytics); and the advertising data described below.

Cookies and local storage

A cookie is a small file a site stores on your device. Local storage is a similar store that stays in the browser.

Strictly necessary: the cookie laikimap-locale remembers the language you chose, for one year. The site cannot keep that choice without it.

Functional, stored only on your device: laikimap:settings (maps app, theme, units), laikimap:home-district (the municipality we last detected), and laikimap:geo-asked (so we do not prompt for location again). These never leave your browser.

Advertising: Google's cookies and similar storage follow your choice in Google's consent message (see Advertising). The visit statistics set no cookies and store nothing on your device. Details are on the Cookie Policy.

Analytics

To know which pages are used, we count visits with Statable (statable.com), a service of Key Arg B.V. (Netherlands). Statable sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records the page, the page you came from, your browser, operating system and device type, screen size, language, country, how long the visit lasted and how far you scrolled. Your IP address is used only to derive your country and a visitor identifier that changes every day, and it is not stored. The data is stored on servers in the Netherlands. We use the counts to see which pages are useful, never to identify you.

Advertising

Laikimap is funded by advertising. Every page loads Google AdSense (publisher ca-pub-8797188391400158) to show and measure ads. Google may use cookies, your IP address, and similar identifiers to do so, including for personalised ads where the law allows it and you have agreed.

Visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are covered by Google's EU User Consent Policy: Google's consent message asks before cookies or personal data are used for ads, and lets you change your answer later.

Location

“Near me” asks your browser for a position so we can open the municipality you are in. That reading stays on your device. We do not receive it on a server, and we do not attach it to an advertising profile.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data.

The site runs on a server we rent from OVHcloud (OVH SAS) in a data centre in France; it processes IP addresses to deliver the pages. Statable receives the visit statistics described above and keeps them in the EU. Google processes data for the ads as described above and may do so outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States.

We may disclose information if the law requires it.

Why we are allowed to

The language cookie and the on-device settings are necessary to provide the service you asked for.

The visit statistics rely on our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are used and improving the site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). They store nothing on your device and do not identify you. Ads use cookies or personal data on the consent you give in Google's message, where the law requires it. You can refuse it without losing the map and withdraw it later; withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened.

Your rights

If the GDPR applies to you, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal data we hold, and you can object to or restrict certain processing. Because we do not keep visitor accounts, we usually hold nothing we can look up by name. Write to support@laikimap.online and we will answer.

You can also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr) or to the authority where you live.

Children

Laikimap is a general map. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the page.
